EXOTIC SMOOTH STRUCTURES ON # (2n−1)(S 2 × S 2)

Let M be either S×S or more generally, (2n−1) connected sums of S × S. We construct a simply-connected minimal symplectic 4-manifold that is homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to M . We also construct an infinite family of smooth 4-manifolds homemorphic but not diffemorphic to M .

The Geography of Spin Symplectic 4-manifolds
In this paper we construct a family of simply connected spin non-complex symplectic 4-manifolds which cover all but finitely many allowed lattice points (χ, c) lying in the region 0 ≤ c ≤ 8.76χ. Furthermore, as a corollary, we prove that there exist infinitely many exotic smooth structures on (2n+ 1)(S × S) for all n large enough.
